Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine

Last week I went to the range at the Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine. They have 9 pistol ranges and one rifle range indoor. They work first come, first serve for the pistol ranges and by appointment with the rifle range. The cost was $8.00 an hour. They require ear and eye protection which you must buy if you do not have them.

I got to try out my two new handguns. The High Standard Hombre is a 9 shot .22 SA. I enjoyed shooting it since it is comfortable and cheap to shoot. I could hit the target at 70 feet.

The Kel-Tec P3AT was not fun, but it shot perfectly for 60 shots. That is better than my S&W automatic which jams one every clip. The Kel-Tec is DAO with a long trigger pull. There are no sites, just a groove on top of the barrel. I  could hit the target at 30 feet, but could not get a good group.

The target retreival system was confusing. Another shooter had to show me how to use it. There is a control panel with a keypad. To bring the target to you press Home then Enter. To send the target out press Position, then the distance in feet, then Enter.
